DH outlines the future of informatics

The Department of Health (DH) has outlined the future of informatics and how it relates to a range of health organisations. (Published: 10 July 2012)

The DH has released its vision in "Informatics: The future – An organisational summary" (PDF 482Kb), where it incorporates the agreement for the establishment of a new Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) to collect, analyse and present data and to deliver key national systems and services.

The new informatics system will make best use of existing specialist skills, experiences and resources. The focus is now on realising the vision, implementing organisational functions and making sure all parts of the informatics system are working together effectively.
