Part of the legacy of the London 2012 Games has been the creation of an archaeological record preserving the past of the Olympic Park: its origins, history, and the story of the varied communities who have contributed to its distinctive character.

Between 2005 and 2009, a programme of archaeological and historical investigations was undertaken within the Olympic Park to record, map, excavate and analyse different aspects of the site’s past.

This section of the Learning legacy website describes the archaeological work undertaken and gives an insight into some of the finds from the Park.
