The SWE (Schools Interactive Whiteboard Expansion project) funding stream was intended to fully equip at least one core subject department in each London secondary school with interactive whiteboards (IWBs) and for them to become available to use in 2003/4.

The objectives of the research were to assess the impact of interactive whiteboard use on: Teaching and learning; teacher/pupil motivation, pupil attendance and behaviour; and standards in core subjects at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
