The Technology Strategy Board’s Director of Enterprise and Communication, Allyson Reed, has been shortlisted for a European award for her work promoting enterprise and innovation at universities and in the public sector across the UK over the past ten years.

The ACES Academic Enterprise Awards are the only pan-European programme to recognise entrepreneurship at academic institutions and Allyson is a finalist for the Bridge Award, for the individual who has done the most to create an environment favourable to enterprise and innovation at an institution or region.

Before the awards ceremony at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich today, Allyson Reed said:

“I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this award and see it very much as recognition of the Technology Strategy Board’s important role supporting economic growth by ensuring that the UK is a global leader in innovation.  Encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration between business and academia, bridging the gap between research and technology commercialisation, is a key part of our work.”

The other finalists for the Bridge Award are Teri Willey, chief executive of Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge University and Kristo Ovaska, founder of Venture Garage at Finland’s Aalto University.
