Future Health Mission 2011 competition – deadline extended to 19 November

12 Nov 2010

Due to unprecedented demand, the deadline for applications for the Future Health Mission 2011 has been extended until November 19, 2010. Companies can apply online at www.futurehealthmission.com/apply.php.

The Future Health Mission is a competition to identify the top 20 fast-growing Future Health companies in the UK. Those companies selected will be travelling to San Francisco from Jan 8 - 14, 2011 to explore opportunities for growth with key investors, potential partners and customers, media and other stakeholders in Silicon Valley. The Mission is aligned with the JP Morgan Healthcare conference to ensure maximum benefit is gained from the trip and is sponsored by the Technology Strategy Board, UKTI and supported by Polecat.

For more information or to contact the mission please see www.futurehealthmission.com.

Future Health Mission 11 is focussed on e-health and health informatics, personalised medicine, regenerative medicine, assistive technologies, medical technologies and diagnostic technologies. Drug discovery and development is not included.

The Future Health Mission 11 competition was launched at Innovate10, the Technology Strategy Board's annual innovation conference, on Tuesday 12 October. A short and simple online application process will remain open until Friday 19 November. Applicant companies will be assessed on their ability to do meaningful business in the US: from setting up offices, to finding funding, extending their network and developing sustainable transatlantic relationships. Companies will also be assessed on their business viability and the strength of their management team. The final selection will be balanced to form a mix of companies that show the breadth of what the UK has to offer in this sector. In a very few cases, some criteria may be relaxed for younger companies presenting particularly innovative ideas.
