Chapelhall and St Aloysius Primary Joint Campus Education 2010 Proposals

The Council proposes a new build primary joint campus sensitively designed to retain the identity and ethos of each school but with some shared facilities. The design apacity of Chapelhall Primary is 250 and St Aloysius is 320. Both schools currently accommodate nursery classes and these will be combined to provide Early Education classes in addition to primary accommodation.

The physical education facilities within the new building, including an on-site 7-a-side floodlit synthetic pitch, will be available for community use. In addition the assembly hall/gym, dining/general purpose room and other community areas will be accessible to the community.

The proposed site location for the new school is on Russell Street, Chapelhall which is currently recreational ground. Both schools are currently located in Chapelhall, one at Gibb Street (Chapelhall) and the other on the Main Street (St Aloysius Primary).

The anticipated construction programme indicates a site works commencement date of February 2005 with full services commencement of April 2006.
