Prosperity work in Chile

Innovacion industrial en el Reino Unido

Prosperity is one of the Foreign Office’s three global priorities along with security and consular work. The UK aims for a partnership for prosperity with Chile – working together so that both our countries become more prosperous in the interconnected global economy. Our Prosperity work is focused on areas that are essential for the economic success of both countries; areas such as trade and investment, economic reform, climate change, education and science and innovation.

We want to encourage UK companies to consider Chile as a place to trade and invest. Supporting UK business is a core activity for the Diplomatic Service working on behalf of the whole of Government. We also aim to provide support to Chile in achieving sustainable economic growth, including through our partnerships on climate change, education and science.

Each year we have access to the FCO’s Prosperity Fund, which finances projects that meet our Prosperity goals. The next round of applications for the Prosperity Fund will open in Q1 2013. You can find more information here.

One of the key planks of our bilateral work with Chile is in climate change. For more information visits our climate change pages.

We also operate the Chevening Scholarsips scheme for young leaders who want to proceed postgraduate studies in the UK.
