International organisations and secretariats

All of the following links open a new website:

African Union
Formerly known as the Organisation for African Unity (OAU). Administersover 30 African agreements, including the Treaty of Pelindaba. Incorporates full texts and status lists.

Agreements Office, Council of the European Union
A good site for European treaties, with references to the full texts in the Official Journal.

Council of Europe
Contains the full text, in English and French, of the various conventions and agreements concluded by the Council of Europe.

European Parliament
This site provides access to EU Official Journals, treaties and otherdocuments through the EU-LEX system. However, the printed version of the Official Journal must be consulted for the full text of any agreement.

European Commission Treaties Database
Flexibly organized, allowing searches by subject matter groupings (e.g "enterprise"), ready inventories (i.e lists of agreements containing certain clauses) in addition to the traditional criteria.

International Atomic Energy Agency
Provides full texts, status lists and reservations relating to conventions and agreements under IAEA auspices.

International Labour Organisation
Provides access to the text and current status of all the ILO Conventions that apply to the UK (and also to Ireland).

International Maritime Organisation
This site (under the heading 'IMO Conventions') has – in addition togeneral background information on adopting an IMO convention – details of depositary information, status lists of IMO conventions and the latest ratifications.

International Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Database
This website, in addition to providing the full texts, commentaries,State Parties, signatories and reservations for the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their 1977 Protocols, also has the full texts of 98 treaties and texts relating to international humanitarian law.

Basic Texts section divided into Antecedents of the Alliance, Juridical Texts and Formal Agreements 1949-1997 and Key Policy Documents.

OECD's Centre for Tax Policy and Administration
Links to the text of hundreds of Tax Information Exchange Agreements.

UN Treaty Collection
UN Treaty Series and depositary information. A major source of treaty information, containing the texts of over 40,000 bilateral and multilateral treaties in their authentic languages, with translations into English as necessary. Also contains status lists of the multilateral treaties deposited with the Secretary General, and details of treaties deposited with the Secretary General of the former League of Nations. However, the database only contains details of treaties that have entered into force. Access to the database is on a subscription basis, but the full texts (in multiple languages) of nearly 50 recent multilateral treaties – including the Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities of the International Criminal Court – are available without subscription.

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO)
Provides a listing of the Conventions for which UNESCO is depositary, with full text and lists of States Parties.

World Customs Organisation
Includes status lists and full text of the 1974 Kyoto Convention on the Simplification and Harmonization of Customs Procedures.

World Intellectual Property Organisation
Provides details of the 23 treaties administered by WIPO in the field of intellectual property.

World Trade Organisation (WTO)
This site gives access to a comprehensive explanation of all the WTO's agreements, together with full texts.

This website lists all bilateral agreements for Argentina, organised by country.

Australian Treaties Library website gives access to the full text of Australian multi- and bilateral treaties, including those treaties notyet in force, current status lists and a variety of other information and links relating to international law.

This site lists those treaties for which Belgium is the depositary.

Searchable database of Canadian treaties, including full texts of those treaties that have entered into force.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs website including full texts and other details of a range of Bilateral treaties.

Costa Rica
Lists (under Tratados) of bilateral treaties, with full texts.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs website with lists of bilateral treaties, organised by country (no full texts).

This site provides lists (in Spanish) of bilateral agreements by country/organisation, and some multilateral agreements.

A searchable treaty database with large numbers of multi- and bilateral French treaties, with full texts available (in French).

This site provides access (in German) to the full text of a range of selected agreements, arranged in chronological order between 1949 and 2000.

A database of agreements (in Spanish) searchable by type, organisation/country and document title.

Hong Kong
Lists all treaties in force and applicable to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, arranged into categories by subjectand with full text where available.

This site provides full texts of Indian bilateral treaties dating from 1947.
Access to titles within the Irish Treaty Series, from 1953 to present. 

Has a section of the website relating to bilateral treaties.

Korea (Republic of)
This site contains information (in English) on thedomestic procedure for treaty making, the state's approach to international maritime issues and the Antarctic treaty system.

Provides access to a database of documents, searchable by keyword. Treaties can be accessed by choosing 'treaty' as a document type.

A page of multilateral treaties to which Malaysia is either a signatory or a party.

Lists of multilateral and bilateral treaties, reservations, declarations and a glossary of terms (in Spanish).

Home page of Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Links to Treaties in the Foreign Policy section

Norwegian Ministry of the Environment website (inEnglish) which lists a range of environmental agreements (with links tofull texts) under the topic of 'International Co-Operation'.

Includes list of treaties for which Spain is depositary, and list of recent bilateral treaties published in the Official Spanish State Bulletin, plus other documents.

This website (in English) lists approximately 60 treaties for which Switzerland is the depositary, with status lists, and has the full text (in French) of bilateral agreements, organised by subject.

United States

Electronic Information System for International Law

Hosted by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London, contains details of over 1,500 of the most significant multilateral treaties concluded from 1856 to the present.
Glasgow University Library

Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
Includes an A-Z of the UK’s Double Taxation agreements and Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEAs). Other nations' TIEAs can be found at the OECD's site.
Hague Conference on Private International Law
This site contains the full text (in English and French) of a wide range of Private International Law Conventions -including several adopted before 1945 - together with status lists and other information.

Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties
The United Kingdom ratified the Convention on 25 June1971, and the Convention entered into force on 27 January 1980.Published as Treaty Series No.058(1980): Cmnd 7964.
