Sele is blooming - media invitation

November 27, 2007 CHILDREN from St Andrew's Primary School in Hertford will be marking National Tree Week when they plant a flowering cherry tree and some spring flowering daffodils.

They'll be getting busy at Sele Farm Community Centre on Thursday, November 29 at 1.30pm and you're invited to send along a photographer.

Afterwards you can tour the community centre where there'll be light refreshments.

The planting is all part of the transformation of the community centre which was completed at the start of the year. East Herts Council provided a grant of £300,000 and oversaw the development of a new high quality centre while the rest of the money, some £200,000, came from Riversmead Housing Association.

The revamp also included the green space around the centre, which was carried out after consultation with residents. As a result the council has installed a Muga (Multi Use Games Area), improved the children's play area with new equipment and added new seating.

ENDS

Please let Communications know if you intend to send a photographer.

National Tree Week is an initiative of the Tree Council and runs from November
21 to December 2.
