Introduction to Productive Community Services

Overview - An Introduction to Productive Community Services

The Productive Community Services: Releasing time to care™ is an organisation-wide change programme which helps systematic engagement of all front line teams in improving quality and productivity.

It is a practical application of lean based techniques that will vastly increase the organisation’s capacity and capability for continuous improvement.

With community services playing an increasingly important crucial role in the shape of the new NHS, and care shifting away from acute services, the new Productive Community Services programme from the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement is a timely opportunity to revitalise the workforce and increase NHS capacity to care for patients in local settings.

This programme supports frontline staff working in the community to improve the effectiveness, safety and reliability of care provided to patients.

The learning objective for this module is:

To provide the learner with a good understanding of Productive Community Services so that they can be ready to get involved in improvement activities as they are adopted.
