Allowing popups in browser

  • Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Internet Explorer.   
  • Click the Tools button, click Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.
  • In the Address of website to allow box, type the address (or URL) of the website you want to see pop-ups from, and then click Add.
  • Repeat step 3 for every website you want to allow pop-ups from. When you are finished adding websites, click Close.


  • From the Tools menu, select Pop-up Blocker → Pop-up Blocker Settings... The Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog box opens.
  • Right-click in the Address of Web site to allow: field, then choose Paste.

    Notes: Pasting the web address of the site you wish to allow pop-ups is recommended. In our case it will be www.institute.nhs.uk

  • Click Add. The selected website is added to the list of Allowed sites.
  • Click Close to close the Pop-up Blocker Settings dialog box.

Mozilla Firefox

  • Select Options... from the Tools menu. The Options dialog box displays.
  • In the left panel of the Options dialog box, click on the Web Features icon to display the Web Features dialog box. .
  • On the Web Features dialog box, ensure the Block Popup Windows checkbox is selected, then click the adjacent Allow Sites button.
  • Right-click or control-click in the Address of web site: field, choose Paste from the dropdown menu, then click Allow. The selected webpage is added to the list of Allowed Sites.
