As Secretary, Lee Hughes CBE is the person appointed by the Chairman to carry out the administration and management of the Inquiry.

Frances Currie - Deputy Secretary

Frances Currie is a civil servant on loan to the Inquiry from the Department for Education. She has a background in HR and Programme Management and is also Deputy Secretary to the Al-Sweady Public Inquiry.

The Secretariat's responsibilities include: 

  • Finance and expenditure
  • Accommodation for the Inquiry team and hearings
  • Staffing the Inquiry team
  • The public face of the Inquiry, including this website
  • Environmental, safety and security issues
  • Records management and public correspondence
