Our Increasing Skills in Social Care Fund supports employers by enabling the workforce to take suitable qualifications

The Increasing Skills Fund is closed.

Due to an unprecedented demand for funding, the Increasing Skills in Social Care Fund is now closed.  As with all funding opportunities the Increasing Skills Fund is a limited resource and all of the available funding has now been allocated.

The Increasing Skills Fund supported the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (Children and Young Peoples Social Care Pathway).
  • NVQ in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) at level 3.
  • NVQ in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) at level 4.
  • NVQ in Leadership and Management for Care Services at level 4.

Since the launch of the Increasing Skills in Social Care Fund in October 2008 we've distributed over £6m to social care organisations. This has provided valued support for over 7,000 social care employees from the independent, private and voluntary sectors, as well as foster carers from the public sector.

Please note that if you have already registered and claimed a start payment, you can still claim end payments for candidates when they complete their qualification.

You can still claim end payments on the online system. Please refer to the User Manual if you need help using the funding system.

The final date for claiming your end payments
is 1 March 2012. ***

*** If you have any enquiries about the Fund, please send an email with your contact details to  Due to resource reallocation we will only be able to respond to enquiries via email during office hours Monday to Wednesday. During that period we will endeavour to respond to your query within 24 hours. We thank you for your patience.
