Parent partnership services

Parent partnership services sit in the footprint of CWDC in our role as sector skills council. We are working with key organisations to identify parent partnership training and development needs in the context of wider training and qualification strategy

Parent partnership services and CWDC

We are working in close partnership with the National Association of Parent Partnership Staff (NAPPS) and the National Parent Partnership Network (NPPN).

In cooperation with Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK), National Association of Parenting Practitioners (NAPP) and Training and Development Agency (TDA) we work to ensure integrated qualifications and training across the parent support workforce and the wider children's workforce.

So far, we have funded a study into professional development to identify existing training and further development needs together with NAPPS (Dorothy 2008). In addition to that, we have developed a functional map for parent partnership service staff.

Functional map

Supported by our partners, we have facilitated the development of a functional map for parent partnership services. This map has grown from contributions from more than 70 parent partnership services. It identifies functions or actions performed by parent partnership services and can inform job descriptions or training and development.
