The document Joint Strategic Needs Assessments and joint health and wellbeing strategies explained published today aims to support development of a joint health and wellbeing strategy.
The purpose of this document is to support the NHS, local government and emerging health and wellbeing boards as they engage with the refresh of Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA) and develop their strategy. It describes what support the Department of Health will provide, including what resources will be available, when, and how we will build in learning from the early implementer health and wellbeing boards.
This document should be read as part of the wider approach to supporting the development and implementation of health and wellbeing boards. It is led by early implementer health and wellbeing boards and the National Learning Network for health and wellbeing boards.
The statements in this document are subject to the successful passage of the Health and Social Care Bill through Parliament and reflect the current intentions of the Department of Health in relation to the JSNA and joint health and wellbeing strategy following Royal Assent.
