Liberating the NHS: An Information Revolution

It is part of the Government’s agenda to create a revolution for patients - “putting patients first” - giving people more information and control and greater choice about their care.  The information revolution is about transforming the way information is accessed, collected, analysed and used by the NHS and adult social care services so that people are at the heart of health and adult social care services.

An Information Revolution: a consultation on proposals closed on the 14 January 2011.

Following the consultation process, we will publish an information strategy and further plans to put this information revolution into effect. We are fully committed to developing and publishing an impact assessment and an equalities impact assessment to accompany the Government’s response to this consultation.
