Who is the acute care programme for?

safer-care-banner2small.jpgThe programme aims to build the passion, skills and confidence of staff at every level of your organisation.

It is organised into a number of modules, which are aimed at different people within your trust – from chief executives and their executive teams to medical, nursing, finance and operational directors and senior clinicians through to patient safety managers and other operational staff.

Trusts accepted onto the LIPS programme will enter into a partnership agreement with the NHS Institute to attend all modules of the programme.

You will need to identify:

  • an interested and committed consultant to do monthly case note reviews
  • a senior consultant and nurse who have the ability to lead and influence the safety improvement agenda
  • a senior nurse who has the ability to lead and influence the safety improvement agenda
  • a patient safety manager who will facilitate day to day improvement work
