Trust Board

THE TRUST BOARD provides strategic direction to the Trust, in order to meet health and healthcare needs within the framework of Government policy.

PUBLIC TRUST BOARD MEETINGS
The public Trust Board meetings will now be held quarterly.  Please click on the link at the bottom of the page to find out the date of the next meeting. Please note the change of time for the July and October meetings which will start at 12pm.


Non - Executive Members

Sir Michael Carlisle CHAIRMAN
Sir Michael Carlisle
Sir Michael has had a long and distinguished association with the NHS, having held a number of posts over the past 35 years. He has held many positions as Chair of Health Authorities and Trusts, including Trent Regional Health Authority from 1982 to 1994. He was Chair of Regional Chairmen in 1991-2 and a member of the NHS Policy Board. In addition he was a Member of the Board of the Medical Research Council, 1991-95 and a Pro-Chancellor of the University of York until 2006, and serves on the Board of the Hull-York Medical School until July 2007. He is the Chair of the Fitness to Practise Committee of HYMS.

Robert DeriRobert Deri
Mr Robert Deri, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, having qualified with KPMG. He has held senior positions with The Burton Group, BT Mobile Communications,Grattan plc, and ZOO Digital Group plc.  Mr Deri lives near Bridlington.

 

Fran Shimmin Fran Shimmin
Mrs Fran Shimmin lives in Scarborough, and spent some years in the Finance Department at the Trust, leaving the NHS in 2002.  A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, her career has spanned a number of different business sectors including the private sector, manufacturing, and education in addition to 10 years in the NHS.

 

Fran Shimmin Dr Deborah McInerny
Dr Deborah McInerny, from Fylingthorpe near Whitby, is a medically  qualified independent consultant. A former Associate Postgraduate Dean and Medical Policy Advisor for the Department of Health she has been a Justice of the Peace since 2000 and a Panel Member of the Tribunal Service since 2007.

 

Dr Alan Raymond
Dr Alan Raymond, who lives in Brantingham East Yorkshire, is a pharmaceutical industry consultant and executive coach. With 26 years experience in executive roles within the international pharmaceutical industry he is a non-executive director for OncImmune Ltd and has also served as a non-executive director for East Yorkshire Primary Care Trust, where he helped manage the merger of two PCT operations.

Fran ShimminMartin Narey
Martin Narey is a former Director General of the Prison Service and was also Chief Executive of Barnardos, the children’s charity. Married with two children and living in Whitby, Martin began his career in the NHS and worked for 23 years in the Prison Service and Home Office. He is also a visiting professor at Sheffield University, from where he graduated in 1977 with a degree in Public Administration.

 

 

Executive Members

Mike Proctor CHIEF EXECUTIVE
Mike Proctor
Mike is a Registered Nurse and has worked in acute hospitals in the NHS for 31 years, in a variety of clinical, educational and managerial roles. He became a Director at York Hospital in March 1998. Mike took over as Chief Executive of Scarborough and North East Yorkshire Healthcare NHS Trust in March 2011.

Teresa FenechINTEGRATION LEAD
Teresa Fenech
Teresa qualified in nursing in 1988 and has held a number of nursing, nursing management and general management roles across the NHS. Prior to joining the Trust Teresa was Director of Performance & Improvement and Corporate Strategy at Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology NHS Foundation Trust.
Teresa has stepped down from her role as Director of  Nurisng to lead the Scarborough/York Integration work.

 

SNicki McNaney DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Nicki McNaney
Nicki McNaney has joined the Trust as Director of Nursing, she has taken over the role from Teresa Fenech who is leading the York/Scarborough integration work. Nicki joins the trust from the Department of Health where she was the lead for the Enhanced Recovery Partnership Programme. Nicki started her career in ophthalmic nursing and has worked in a number of clinical, management and educational positions. For last nine years she has held leadership roles on national improvement programmes in England and Scotland.

 

Denise PotterMEDICAL DIRECTOR
Mark Andrews

Mark trained in London and Yorkshire. He spent time in Scarborough as a junior doctor and has therefore been connected to the Trust for over 20 years. Mark became Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1997 and the Trust's Medical Director in March 2008.


Denise PotterDIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND PROCUREMENT
Bernard Chalk

Bernard Chalk joined the Trust in August 2010 from United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, where he had been Acting Chief Executive for twelve months and prior to that Finance Director. He has previously worked as a Finance Director in NHS organisations in the West Midlands and North Yorkshire regions. 

Denise PotterDIRECTOR OF FACILITIES & PATIENT ADMINISTRATION
James Hayward
James Hayward joined the Trust in April 2009 from Kettering Foundation Trust, where he was director of estates and facilities. James had worked at Kettering for 20 years and had been a board member for the past 15 years. James originally trained as an apprentice electrical engineer. In 1977 he joined his local NHS as a medical physics engineer, later moving to Winchester and then becoming a hospital engineer and achieving an honours degree in engineering.  

 

 

 

 

TRUST SPENDING

Also in support of the Prime Minister’s drive to improve the transparency of how public funds are used, the Trust has a requirement to publish all spending items of £25k or over, these details are given on the Freedom of Information page of the website http://www.scarborough.nhs.uk/freedom-of-information.php.
