BREEZEHURST COMMUNITY PAVILION OPENS ITS DOORS

THE smart new pavilion in Bewbush opened its doors to the public for the first time last week.

Excited Brownies and Rainbows were the first groups to set foot in Breezehurst Community Pavilion last Monday and were all set to use the bright new space for their activities.

All groups who previously used the former Bewbush community centre have been offered the use of the pavilion until the new Bewbush centre in Dorsten Square is built next year.

Thelma Bates, Division Commissioner for girl guiding in Crawley, is happy with the temporary move.

She said: "We will be using it every Monday and Tuesday of the school term until the new community centre is ready for us.

"It's very spacious and bright, it's lovely. The girls enjoyed using it and we're looking forward to hopefully holding a fun day here in the summer."

The £1.5 million community building on Breezehurst Drive was given its name by Bewbush mum of two, Vanessa Harold, who won last month's naming competition.

If you would like to book the Breezehurst Community Pavilion for a community group or event please call 01293 438362 or email communitycentres@crawley.gov.uk
