School building programme - Addey and Stanhope

Addey and Stanhope is a historic co-educational secondary school in Deptford, with origins dating back to the 17th century.

Under the programme, the school will have all its existing buildings refurbished and some heavily remodeled to provide for alternative uses, including a new Lexis Centre for children with speech, language and communication needs.

The school will also have a brand new block constructed, incorporating a new sports hall, dining and kitchen facilities, administration area and learning resource centre.

Sports facilities will be further improved by a new multi-use games area on the former site of the Pearsons Avenue garages.

The works will be carried out in phases, so that students can remain on site throughout the project.

Works began in February 2011, and are due to be completed by September 2012.
