Leeds Grand Theatre has captivated audiences with a wealth of entertainment ranging from ballet, review and comedy to drama, opera, musicals and pantomime for more than a century.

The Grand is synonymous with all that is best in the performing arts. It frequently stages hit West End and Broadway musicals and continues to attract the biggest names in show business to perform on its stage. Over the years the theatre has established and maintained close associations with some of the most prestigious touring companies including Northern Ballet Theatre and English National Ballet.

For the past 28 years it has also provided a home for Opera North one of the best-loved and most respected opera companies in Britain.

Since its opening on 18th November 1878 many great names of theatre have trodden the boards at Leeds Grand - Ellen Terry, Lily Langtry, Laurence Olivier, Dame Sybil Thorndike and Ivor Novello.

In more recent years the theatre has witnessed performances by Ken Dodd, Tommy Steele, Ben Elton, Hank Marvin, Frank Skinner, Eddie Izzard, Jasper Carrott and a galaxy of other stars.
