Arrangements for the Full Hearings

At the Case Management Hearing on 16th October last year, the Panel fixed the start date for the Full Hearings: Tuesday 15th April 2008.

Here are some of the details of the rules and practical arrangements for those hearings, for those planning to attend.

Sitting times

The full hearings will begin at 10:15 on 15th April.

The Inquiry's usual sitting times will be as follows:

Mondays 13:00 - 16:45 with a 15-minute break

Tuesday to Thursday 10:15 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 16:45 with 2 x 15-minute breaks morning and afternoon

Fridays 10:15 - 13:00 with a 15-minute break.

Details of any changes to these sitting times will be provided nearer the time, but at present the Panel Intends to take the following breaks:

Spring Break: 26th May 2008 to 30th May 2008 (inclusive) Summer Break: 30th June 2008 to 29th August 2008 (inclusive).

The inquiry will start sitting again on 1st September 2008.


As set out in the Procedures Document the Inquiry will publish the following material on the Inquiry's website (in original or redacted form): all witness statements; all documents referred to by witnesses in their statements; and the transcripts of the oral hearings. Once the Inquiry's Report is published, other material referred to in the Report will also be made avaliable on the website.


Representatives of the media will, of course, be welcome at the Inquiry’s hearings. The Inquiry Secretary will make arrangements to accommodate the media’s attendance and to facilitate full and proper reporting of the Inquiry’s proceedings.


Please take note that all persons attending the Hearings are liable to be searched. All baggage will be searched. No mobile telephones, no cameras, no recording devices and no electronic equipment should be brought into the building.

Use of wireless technology

The use of wireless devices is not permitted in the Hearing chamber. This includes, but is not limited to, Wi-Fi 802.11 B/G/N wireless cards and Orange/Vodafone or other 3G/GPRS data cards that provide wireless Internet access. Car Parking

Regrettably, no car parking will be available at Interpoint for attendees.
