Provider choice: opportunities for mental health

Patient advocate Bill Davidson talks about the opportunities for introducing greater choice of providers, particularly in the area of mental health.

He was speaking at a workshop ‘Any qualified provider – exploring the benefits for patient care’, held on 25 March 2011, which gave voluntary sector organisations and patient advocates the opportunity to discuss how the introduction of greater choice of provider might bring benefits for patients and carers.

The outcomes of this workshop and subsequent follow-up events will be fed into the NHS Future Forum.
