G-Cloud Programme - Phase 2

In October 2009, following approval from the CIO Council, a team led by the Cabinet Office set out to define how the public sector could utilise the Cloud Computing approach to ICT delivery and explore what benefits and challenges this approach would create. This became known as Phase 2 of the G-Cloud Programme.

Greening Government ICT

The ICT industry has a sizeable carbon footprint – on a par with the aviation industry at 2-3% of global carbon emissions.  The UK Government runs some of the world’s most extensive computer systems, in order to deliver essential public services. The Government ICT is committed to minimising the impact of these systems on the environment and reducing our carbon footprint.

Public Sector Flex

Information about Public Sector Flex is an IT shared service supplied by Fujitsu under a contract awarded by the Cabinet Office following competitive procurement in May 2007. Flex combines standard, low cost, sustainable desktop provision with a comprehensive range of additional services to meet the full ICT requirements of a customer organisation.
