Click image to view larger version.Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs announced on 12 November 2009 the creation of a new National Park for the South Downs.The South Downs National Park came into being on 31 March 2010. The map (PDF 714 KB) shows the area that comprises the National Park. A more detailed map can be found on Natural England’s website.  A National Park authority has also been established.
