Basic Horticultural Statistics

UK National Statistics Quality Mark

The latest national statistics produced by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on Basic Horticultural Statistics were released on 21 July 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

This annual publication provides comprehensive statistics on the area, yield, production, trade and valuation of fruit and vegetable crops grown in the United Kingdom. Some historic data on Ornamentals is also shown. All available data is shown in this new-style publication which replaces separate publications for each year.

Revisions:

Fruit Tables 4, 5 & 6: Data for ‘Cherries’ is now included in ‘Others & Mixed’ from 2008 onwards.

Ornamentals, Table 21 a & b: Area & Production tables have been added to the historic dataset.

Hops, Table 25: Historic dataset added for Hops.
