DECC has developed a new initative to enable the supply chain to pin point and target emerging developments. This initative provides a real-time look at the oil and gas projects for both new field developments and decomissioning of redundant facilities in the UKCS over the next few years. Click here to view the list, which will take you to the Oil and Gas DECC website. If you have any comments or queries on this new initative please contact Carol Campbell here or on 01224 254041.

More than 1,000 people attended the recent PILOT Share Fair (12), which was held on 3rd November 2010 at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre - AECC. The PILOT Share Fair provided an ideal opportunity for oil and gas operators and major contractors to present their next 18 months forward workplans in the North Sea to the Supply Chain, along with one-to-one sessions and a networking reception. Click here to view the presentations.

The decommissioning phase of North Sea oil and gas is likely to differ quite significantly from anything that has gone before. New commerical drivers, fresh technological challenges and a highly responsive supply chain will be required if we are to prevent the costs of this operation rising to unacceptable levels.

Decom North Sea is a newly established  UK-based industry forum set up in 2009 to maximise the business opportunities presented by North Sea decommissioning. The main objective of the forum is to deliver practical industry support to improve knowledge transfer and stimulate collaborative activities across the North Sea supply chain. If you require further information on Decom North Sea, please click here.

Sell Out Conference Demonstrates Industry Interest in Decommissioning Opportunities

Decom North Sea in partnership with Oil and Gas UK and supported by DECC recently held a two day Offshore Decommissioning Conference. The theme was 'Integrating and expanding regional capabilities for decommissioning in the North Sea'. The conference focued on the role and needs of the oil and gas industry's offshore decommissioning supply chain. Click here for more details.

The PILOT report, which was launched at Offshore Europe 09 is available. Click here to view. The report charts the progress towards the PILOT vision and provides an update on PILOT's priority areas.

View here the revamped Supply Chain Code of Practice Pack, which includes the Commitment Form and outlines the benefits of becoming a signatory to the Code. The Supply Chain Code of Practice updates are now included in Oil and Gas UK's 'Wireline' magazine. Click here to view.

A  tiered compliance system for the Supply Chain Code of Practice has been added to encourage better application of the Code accross the Supply Chain, encouraging companies to comply with all parts of the Code to reach 'gold' compliance staus. For more details see above SCCoP Pack link. The 2009 Supply Chain Code of Practice Compliance Survey Report is available, click here to view.

Over 150 companies have now given their commitment to the revamped Code of Practice - see who they are by clicking here. These signatories comprise of major purchsers (operators and principle contractors) and suppliers and currently represent over 80% of expenditure in the UKCS (on an operators reserve basis) . By signing up, companies agree to adopt and implement best practice guidelines, which aim to improve the way business is conducted. The Code is ensorded by PILOT, Oil and Gas UK, Supply Chain Forum and key regional and sectoral Trade Assocaitions.

One of the key principles contained within the Supply Chain Code of Practice is a commitment to pay all valid invoices within 30 days.  An at-a-glance aide memoire has been specially produced for all personnel involved in the payment of invoices to help their organisation meet this target .  Download the document here.

The Model ITTs are five templates helping to simplify the contracting process between purchasers and suppliers, which offer major cost and time savings for both parties by eliminating duplication of effort and information.

The five guideline documents cover the following areas; marine construction, topside support, well services, drilling, general services and provide a standard layout for suppliers to follow when structuring their response to a purchaser's request for services/and or equipment.

To access the Model ITTs free of charge please click here, which will take you to the FPAL website.

DECC and FPAL have jointly developed a new Forward Workplan Database. This information sharing database evolved from a work group on the Supply Chain Managers Network (now the Supply Chain Forum). It is accessed on the non member pages of the FPAL website and shows real time market intelligence and project development. We anticipate it being expanded to incorporate all the major players in the industry.

It will extend and complement the concept of the PILOT share fairs and allows the Supply Chain to add more value. It provides a platform for operators and major contractors to post and update project information regularly and gives suppliers the information on forward planned activity that they need. A leaflet has now been issued for quick reference click here to view.
