Devolution in the United Kingdom 

The devolution of power from Westminister to elected bodies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland had a profound and wide-ranging effect on how the United Kingdom is governed.

It is important that officials understand devolution, and it is in their interest to be aware of the different devolution settlements and how to engage with the devolved administrations - who are responsible for a significant amount of governance and public service delivery in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
