Secondary curriculum evidence

QCDA has a remit to keep the secondary curriculum under review.

Since the launch of the new secondary curriculum in 2007 we've been collecting evidence of its impact on schools and children. This evidence is being collected against a set of five impact outcomes that can be found on the new secondary curriculum website.

Collecting evidence

We are using several methods of evidence collection. As well as working with a network of secondary schools who are evaluating the impact of the reforms on their staff and pupils, we are also collecting evidence through:

  • surveys and focus groups of teachers and children
  • reviews of existing reports such as those produced by Ofsted, CfBT and ASPECT
  • a series of impact case studies.
