David Cameron appointed Prime Minister

David Cameron has been appointed Prime Minister and invited to form a Government by The Queen.

Speaking to the press in Downing Street on Tuesday evening, Mr Cameron pledged to “work hard for the common good and the national interest”.

The Prime Minister is now in the process of forming the Cabinet after yesterday’s announcement that Nick Clegg would serve as Deputy Prime Minister.
