Budget 2010

There are a number of developments in the Budget relevant to procurement and the wider commercial agenda for which OGC is responsible, working with Departments and the public sector.  This highlights the critical role public sector organisations can play in delivering value for money savings through our commercial activities, as well as the potential for procurement to deliver future growth.  These developments include:

  • Measures related to SMEs in public procurement
  • Prompt Payment improvements
  • Using procurement for growth
  • Consultation launch of the Policy through Procurement supplier charter
  • Publication of public sector procurement expenditure data
  • Extending the remit of the Centre for Expertise in Sustainable Procurement into the wider public sector
  • Relocating civil service posts out of London and the South East
