Proposals for a Legislative Reform Order to amend Lloyd's Act 1982

On 7 March 2008, HM Treasury published a consultation document entitled "Proposals for a Legislative Reform Order to amend Lloyd's Act 1982". This set out proposals to modernise the governance arrangements of Lloyd's of London and remove restrictions that impede the way the Lloyd's insurance market operates. The consultation lasted 12 weeks, in accordance with the Code of Practice for written consultations, and closed on 30 May 2008.

The draft Legislative Reform Order (LRO) has now been laid before Parliament. Below is a copy of the original consultation document, a summary of the responses to consultation, and a copy of the Explanatory Document which was presented to Parliament along with the draft LRO.
