Infrastructure UK

As part of the Pre-Budget Report delivered on December 9th 2009, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced the establishment of Infrastructure UK (IUK).

Infrastructure UK provides a new strategic focus in government across the full range of infrastructure sectors, raising the bar on how infrastructure investment is planned, prioritised, financed and delivered.

Infrastructure UK will:-

To ensure IUK is an effective and efficient focal point for UK infrastructure strategy and advice, Government plans is consolidating a number of policy, financing, and delivery bodies. Infrastructure UK will therefore bring together HM Treasury's PPP policy team and Infrastructure Finance Unit, and, subject to agreement, the capabilities within Partnerships UK that support the delivery of major projects and programmes.

The Chairman of Infrastructure UK is Paul Skinner.

The Chief Executive of Infrastructure UK is James Stewart, on secondment from Partnerships UK.
