Kathy has been Collier Chair since 2002.
 
Kathy Sykes
She's a member of the Council for Science and Technology, the Government's top science advisory panel and chairs the 'Sciencewise' advisory group, who advise the Government on good practice on dialogue with the public about issues around science and technology. She sits on strategic panels in public engagement in science for the Wellcome Trust, the EPSRC and the Royal Society. She's a Trustee of the Science Museum.
 
Kathy co-directs the Cheltenham Festival of Science and features on various BBC 2 TV series, including Rough Science and Ever Wondered about Food. She was Head of Science for Explore@tBristol, in charge of the team creating the content for a new hands-on Science Centre.
 
Kathy has a PhD in Physics.
