A deep area of low pressure, centred around 350 miles to the southwest of Iceland, dominates the Atlantic. Its associated frontal system is fairly weak over eastern areas of England. A series of troughs lie to the west of the UK and these mark lines of active showers which will affect northwestern areas today.
