In 2007 the RCUK Shared Services Centre Ltd (the SSC) was established to help the UK's seven Research Councils ensure that the UK remains at the very forefront of research and innovation. The SSC will achieve this by delivering quality services in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, IT IS and Grants.
The Procurement function within the SSC is a fully operational Procurement service that provides the Research Councils with an easy to use and efficient Procurement system. The SSC is committed to effective management that ensures fairness, transparency, and fiscal responsibility when conducting its procurement activities.
Procurement provides a wide range of services and dedicated specialist Category Managers to support specialist requirements such as Information Technology, Travel and Facilities Management. Procurement consists of a group of professionals who manage and deliver strategic procurement planning, advice and implementation services for major acquisitions.
