The Project Control Framework

The M60 is an orbital motorway, which forms a 36.1 mile-long complete circle around Manchester.

The motorway was named the M60 in 2000 and included the renamed M63 and the M62 between J12 to J18.

Traffic Information

M60 Greater Manchester | Clockwise | Roadworks, road closed

The M60 clockwise exit slip at junction J23 will be closed , due to roadworks, between 10 pm and 5 am, from 16 November 2009 to 21 November 2009.

M60 J15-12 Lane Gain, Planned

A new lane is to be constructed within the existing highway boundary, in the anti clockwise direction, between Junctions 15 and 12 of the M60. more

M60 Junctions 19 to 23 Investigation Works, Current

We will be carrying out investigation works on the M60 Motorway between Junctions 19 to 23 over six weekends this summer. more

Did You Know

  • As it is made up of a number of motorways around Manchester, the M60 features the first piece of motorway construction work in the country.
  • Before work started on the M6 Preston Bypass , Lancashire County Council constructed the embankments for the Barton High Level Bridge which formed part of the M62, later M63, then M60.
