The aim of the Central Emergency Planning Unit is to promote the development of Civil Protection arrangements within the NI public sector to ensure that the most efficient and effective response can be made to assist the public during, and in the aftermath of a civil emergency.

Civil Contingencies Scotland

The Scottish Executive Justice Department also has overall responsibility for policy on emergency planning in Scotland (apart from Health). The basic principle applied in Scotland and the UK is of local management of incidents. Eight regional Groups throughout Scotland, led by the Chief Constable and Local authority Chief Executives, make detailed plans for all types of incidents in their area. These plans are exercised regularly and all groups have experience of dealing with different types of emergencies.

Danish Emergency Management Agency

The Emergency Management Agency is a governmental agency under the Ministry of the Defence. According to the Danish Preparedness Act the principal task of the Emergency Management Agency is to manage the National Rescue Preparedness Corps, to supervise the national and municipal rescue preparedness and to advice the authorities on matters of preparedness.
