Mental health and wellbeing

Professors Cary Cooper CBE and Rachel Jenkins, the lead experts on the Foresight project Mental Capital and Wellbeing: Making the most of ourselves, discussed the findings of the report, which explores how best to improve wellbeing at work and manage mental ill-health in society.

Mental Capital and Wellbeing: Making the most of ourselves examines how a person's store of ‘mental capital’ changes over their lifetime and identifies the factors that will enhance or hinder its development. The report argues that, to prosper and flourish in a rapidly changing world, we must make the most of all of our cognitive resources. Evidence from the final project report concludes that there is a clear case for action across society, by government, business and individuals, to help people optimise their mental capital and wellbeing.
