Dignity In Care

The People's Award for Dignity in Care gives you the opportunity to recognise individuals or teams who work in health & social care for the care that they provide to you, a friend or a member of your family. It's a great way to make the people who have cared for you to feel good, and its genuinely a nice thing to do. It will also help to inspire others working in the same profession. The award celebrates individuals or teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide care that respects people’s dignity. Things like offering a genuinely personal service; flexibility in where or when the care is provided; a service that considers the right to privacy of people receiving care; and the encouragement of independance and self esteem.

The judges are looking for health & social care staff who have gone the extra mile to provide care that respects people’s dignity. This could mean:

• Focusing on the person: providing simple, clear and accessible information about services
• Providing a better service: striving to deliver a service that's personal
• Showing dignity & respect: supporting people to express their needs and wants

Teams/Individuals Working With Children Now Accepted

Please note: The Terms and Conditions for this Award have now been amended to include accepting applications from teams or individuals who work with children as well as adults.
