Safer Care

How can I apply / express an interest in the LIPS programme?

Leading Improvement in Patient Safety (LIPS) is a comprehensive programme developed to give NHS trusts the passion, skills and confidence to eliminate harm to patients.

By signing up to the programme you will develop organisational plans to improve patient safety and will build teams responsible for driving improvement across your organisation.

If you would like to register your interest in the LIPS programme, please complete this form.

Alternatively, you can email safer.care@institute.nhs.uk with any questions, and we can alert you when applications open for the next wave of the programme.

The current LIPS programme is for acute trusts.  We are working on developing a similar programme for primary care, which we hope to be available in early 2009.   To express an interest in LIPS primary care, please email us.

“Involvement in the programme has helped drive the patient safety agenda forward and has added credibility to our initiatives.  We are developing my current role in risk management to be focused on patient safety and this would not have happened without the course.”
