Chief Executive of NHS

Following the departure of Sir Nigel Crisp from the NHS and DH, he has been replaced by David Nicholson, Chief Executive of the NHS.

As Chief Executive of the NHS, David Nicholson, an Alumni of the Graduate Schemes, ensures that the Department provides strategic leadership for the NHS and social care. His duties as Chief Executive include managing the Access, Programmes and Performance, Workforce, and Commercial directorates within the Department.  We have been very fortunate to welcome David to a number of events within the Leadership Directorate since his appointment.  He gave a keynote speech at the 50th Anniversary of NHS Graduate Schemes in October 2006, and attended both the Gateway to Leadership Cohort III Graduation event in January 2007 and the Joint Schemes Graduation for FMTS 2003, HRMTS and GMTS 2004 intakes, in June.
