NPFS and RM Community Centres
Community Centres are good points of contact if you are new to an area, or to get support when your partner is away on deployment. Many Community Centres are equipped with computers where you can go on the Internet and send/receive emails to/from a serving person.

A community is where people have something in common… …often it is where they live, but not always…
The RN Community website is designed to bring people together who cannot be together in one place because they are spread right across the country - and the world. What they share is knowing someone, or being related to someone, serving in the Royal Navy, or they themselves could be serving.

A Talking Community
These pages of information and chat are what is now often called a 'virtual community' on the internet - offering a chance to get in touch with others who may be feeling and thinking the same way. Do use it, especially the Registered Members Area (although you'll need a serving person's Service Number to enter) and then tell us what you think. We'll do our very best to change what you don't like and improve what you do.

NPFS & RM Welfare Community Service
NPFS & RM Welfare aims to foster a community spirit among those who live in and around base port and RM barracks areas and among those who can travel to these areas.

Community Centres
Community Centres offer a wide variety of activities and are open to all service families, not just Navy. Those on the large Service Families estates provide a base for community based activities such as pre-school groups, hobbies & disco clubs, clinics, education or just plain socialising. Events vary from area to area according to who wants what and are organised mainly by volunteers who are members of the Service community.

Up Country Community Support
NPFS Community Workers are there to co-ordinate activities and manage the Centres. The Community Workers also are able to set up activities and support groups at the request of RN/RM families outside the home port areas. For more information call your nearest Centre or the Naval Personal & Family Service or RM Welfare organisations.
