Benefits adviser

The benefits adviser is an online questionnaire to help you find out which benefits and tax credits you and your family may be entitled to, and if you are entitled to the State Pension.

How to use the benefits adviser

If you are not in one of the groups listed in the ‘who can’t use this service’ section below, you can:

  • answer for yourself or someone else - the benefits adviser is anonymous
  • save your answers for seven days (you’ll be given a unique reference number to come back to your answers - you must keep this number safe as there is no way to retrieve it)
  • download and print your results for reference

At present, the benefits adviser can't provide full eligibility advice for a small number of customers who may be eligible to claim Jobseekers Allowance (Income Based), Maternity Allowance, Statutory Maternity Pay and Working Tax Credit. Follow the link below to see if you are affected.
