As well as having a good technical knowledge of information systems, you need to be a good business analyst. You have to be flexible and adaptable, and you could work as part of a team or independently, so you will have to be a self-starter too.

    Routes into the Royal Navy

You must be a graduate to join the E(IS) branch.

    Your future

You will have the opportunity to gain recognised academic qualifications over the course of your career, including a postgraduate certificate, then a diploma, and finally an MSc in Information Systems. There are also opportunities to study full time for an MSc in Information Systems.

We very much hope that you stay with the Royal Navy for some time. However, if you move on, you will find that these skills and qualifications will open up a wide range of opportunities in business and industry.
