International Debut - 5th!

ZX3R2576.jpgWell, our international debut has just come to an end and we have surpassed our own expectations and probably surprised quite a few people.  The aim of the regatta was to settle into some racing and identify what areas we needed to concentrate on to keep taking our training forward at the fastest possible rate.  To find ourselves in the hunt for medals and to finish 5th overall and top British boat was truely amazing.

Palma Training

Training with the RN!Since my last blog it’s been full steam ahead for Team Clark.  We have done some great training on our own and with the squad in Weymouth.  This was rounded off with the first Spring Series event where, after only 3 weeks in the boat, we were extremely please to finish a very close second.  Straight after the event we loaded our boat up and shipped out to Palma for some warmer weather training in preparation for our first international event there in Apr.

Finally on the Water

The new boatThis week Saskia finally got the all clear to start sailing again after her injury and our campaign could be launched in earnest.  We had a fantastic week of light wind training in Portland Harbour and were both really pleased with how quickly we settled down as a team.  Saskia’s vast experience and high level of skill was immediately evident and extremely useful in getting me up to speed and helping me out learning in the new boat.
