Eastern Area Community Information | Chaplaincy
We represent the Royal Naval Chaplaincy and are an extension of the Naval Chaplaincy Service in HM Naval Base. Our main objective is to encourage, help and support Naval personnel and their families throughout Portsmouth, Fareham and Gosport.
Our team's first project since taking up post was to organise a Carol Service at the Crossley Community Centre in Rowner. We would dearly have loved to have been able to have a Carol Service at the two Community Centres in Portsmouth as well, but as we had a relatively short time to arrange things (we only took up post in October), this was not possible.
We hope to pursue this further this year. We would like to thank the Rev John Green RN and the Naval Personal and Family Service and staff at the Crossley Community Centre for their help and support and a special big thank you to all our young readers. WELL DONE!
When families move into the area, we distribute our welcome leaflet and try to visit as many newcomers as possible. If however, you've not had a visit from us yet and would like us to visit or have not received a leaflet, please do contact us on 023 9258 4413.
News from HM Naval Base, Portsmouth - The Waterfront Chaplaincy has recently changed from being located in a Portacabin near Fountain Lake Jetty, to a more practical office in Lancelot Building, which also houses the MACCO and Waterfront Manning Offices.
Andrew Morgan is the Naval Base Chaplaincy Support Worker, who joined the team in Nov 04, and is normally available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Andrew can be contacted on 02392 723000 or 02392 722915. If you have any need to contact the Chaplaincy don't hesitate to visit the new Chaplaincy Office or phone Andrew or the Rowner CSW's (Connie and Judith). We will be delighted to assist or put you in contact with an appropriate Chaplain.
Connie Sherman, Judith Swaine and Andrew Morgan.
