2009 Channel Sail
CHANNEL SAIL 2009
As previously notified in the Camps and Courses programme 2009, the popular Channel Sail programme will take place in July and August using two vessels, Black Swan a 50' twin engine motor cruiser and Amaryllis a Sigma 38' sailing yacht.
Crew requirements are:
Skipper RYA YM Offshore (M)
Mate RYA Day Skipper (S) (M)
Skipper RYA YM Offshore (S)
Mate RYA Day Skipper (S)
The crew make up for each leg will be determined by the male/female volunteer ratio, however where possible crew swapping within each trip will be arranged. The outline plan is:
CHANNEL SAIL 1
Join at Portsmouth Sun 19 July, sail Mon 20, via Cherbourg, the Channel Islands arriving Weymouth Fri 24 Jul cadets depart Sat 25 July from Weymouth.
CHANNEL SAIL 2
Join at Weymouth Sun 26 July, sail Mon 27, via Channel Islands, arriving Dartmouth Sat 1 Aug, cadets depart Dartmouth Sun 2 Aug.
CHANNEL SAIL 3
Join at Portsmouth Sun 16 Aug, sail Mon 17, via France, arriving Brighton Friday 21 Aug, cadets depart Sat 22 Aug.
CHANNEL SAIL 4
Join at Brighton Sun 23 Aug, sail Mon 24, via France, arriving Portsmouth Sat 29 Aug, cadets depart Sun 30 Aug.
Applications via Westminster by 22 May 09 noting that Next of Kin, medical information and dietary requirements must be completed on Westminster before applications will be accepted.
Recall officers not yet having access to Westminster should complete form 24 at the link and forward to CCF (RN) HQ.
2010 Cadet 150
In 2010 the Naval Cadet Forces will organise a tri-service offshore sailing and power boating event as part of the Cadet 150 Celebrations. The intention is that this will be similar to the cruise in company element of a Tall Ships’ Race with stopovers and events in a number of ports. The intention is that the fleet will visit London to coincide with the main C150 event planned for there.
