Welcome To Taunton HIVE Information Centre

Taunton lies in the spectacular Vale of Taunton Deane. This beautiful area is home to two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - The Blackdown and Quantock Hills and Somerset Levels and Moors. It combines relics of its dramatic past with the buzz and efficiency of a modern county town.

The town has many fine architectural features including soaring church spires and the Heritage Trail taking walkers through attractive back streets, parks, gardens and historic corners.

Beautiful peaceful countryside, over 40 miles of coastline and a rich mixture of heritage, history and legend - this is Somerset, a county of contrast. Experience the drama of Exmoor, Glastonbury, Wells (the smallest city in England) and the seaside fun at the family resorts of Minehead or Burnham-on-Sea.

With a great variety of local foods (including Cheddar cheese, cider and cream teas), Somerset will always give you a real taste of Englands West Country. There are also a variety of restaurants, pubs, takeaways and sandwich bars.

From big High Street names to small specialists retailers, there is a wide range of shops, mall’s and stalls throughout Taunton offering superb shopping facilities for all the family.
