Service Family Accommodation Neighbourhood Watch

The RN Police Headquarters (Western) co-ordinates the Neighbourhood Watch Schemes for all SFA Estates.  Neighbourhood Watch is a public initiative supported by the RN Police in partnership with the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.

Neighbourhood Watch Coordiantors are required for the following SFA Estates:

  • Crownhill SFA Estate, Eggbuckland SFA Estate, Crapstone SFA Estate,
  • Widewell SFA Estate, Plympton SFA Estate.

Are you community minded? Do you like living in a safe community?

You can assist the RN Police and Devon and Cornwall Police. Whether a Service Person or a Civilian living on a SFA Estate you can be a Neighbour Hood Watch Coordinator.

SFA Coordinators Roles and Responsibilities

Anyone can become a Coordinator, you don’t have to sign a contract or agreement specifying what you have to do.  All literature, membership packs and information is supplied by the RN Police.

NHW Coordinators will be:

• Registered with Devon and Cornwall Constabulary
• Provided with free Neighbourhood Watch Ultra Violet property marking pens
• Free loan of timer switches from the RN Police.
• Informed of criminal activities within  you area, which you can pass onto your members in the scheme to assist in reducing vulnerabilities.
• Provided with all literature involving running a NHW Scheme

The RN Police are always looking for new NHW Coordinators to join the scheme, if you are interested in joining then email your Crime Reduction Officer .

Neighbourhood Watch Meetings

NHW meetings are held on a regular basis, this is where Coordinators, RN Police Crime Reduction Officer, Devon and Cornwall Police, MOD Police and the Defence Housing Executive discuss the latest issues and concerns involving crime on the SFA Estates.

The Next NHW Meetings are:

  • For Crownhill, Eggbuckland, Widewell, Charlton Crescent and Higher Compton the next meeting will be at Crownhill Community Centre on
    07 February 2007 time tbc.
  • For Plympton and Plymstock the next meeting will be at Plymstock Community Centre on 07 February 2007 time tbc.
